»Luke 15 - The chapter of lost things

published on 21.08.2011 at 13:44 written Wyndson

Introduction

What is the feeling you get when you lose something important, something worthwhile, something that is perhaps unique, perhaps a relic ... what is the feeling that surrounds your heart in this moment?

What is the sense of a stolen car? Of being robbed? Come home and have their property stolen? Of losing something that was very valuable to you?!

Now, let's go further into more difficult and complex sensations.

What is the feeling of losing a loved one?

What a feeling of loss of your love which is not matched by a loved one?

What would you feel if Jesus came back today to get your church and you knew that was left behind? I knew lost their salvation!?

Often in situations like these, we are faced with the questions! Why was not more careful? Why did not try to save more safely? Why not valued more precious that he had? Why not give due weight to this beloved person?

1) It is against this that I stopped to think of a chapter in the Bible where it speaks of three lost:

1.1) the lost sheep,

1.2) the lost coin,

1.3) and the lost son.

2) That coupled speaks three cheers:

2.1) of the pastor,

2.2) of the female

2.3) and father.

3) With this we learn a lesson in values:

3.1) a sheep, a creature without intelligence, but was worth more than previously thought;

3.2) the currency, a lifeless object, but had great importance in the eyes of its owner;

3.3) the son, who despised his father, found it loved without merit.

But now we wonder why this parable is divided into three parts? You are so divided that it could not be one or even two, and present the whole truth, let us now to understand the condition, experience and redemption of the lost.

4) The condition of the lost, we learn:

4.1) of the sheep, that all we lost by our own action;

4.2) of the coin, we are without spiritual life by nature and by nature are "dead in trespasses and sins;" (spirit, soul and body - I Thessalonians 5:23, Hebrews 4:12).

4.3) of the child, we are lost for choice.

5) The experience of the lost:

5.1) in the first story remember the misery of the lost;

5.2) in the second, in its insensitivity;

5.3) in the third, in his remorse.

6) The rescue of the Lost: One more reason for the parable in three parts, is to reveal the Trinity.

6.1) in the first part of the Son redeems (sig. Remove from captivity, the power of others; rescue, indemnify, compensate, repair, refund)

6.2) in the second Spirit, operates and restores;

6.3) in the third, the Father receives.

Conclusion

With this message we learn the value there is to lose things, so learn to value, to give due value as it is with you when you're not lost.

Jesus wants to teach us that we must not lose something to remember their value.

He is also showing us that even if there is something in your life that is lost can restore it, he can recover, it can be found to do this.

Perhaps you have been so far from God that today he is calling you to return to first love to return to him, with his father because he will receive you, hold you and to celebrate his return with beloved son who is willing to be more come to him again.
